A brand new 24 hour ultra challenge with a midnight start and midnight cut-off.
A full circumnavigation of the city of Leeds via local footpaths.
A very popular long distance walk of 100km / 62 miles which makes a complete circuit around the city of Leeds and visits many of the neighbouring towns, villages, parks and nature reserves.
It is never more than 7 miles from Leeds City Square. Despite being so close to the city the route is mainly rural with much to enjoy including extensive views to the West and North Yorkshire countryside in the outlying areas of the Leeds metropolitan district. It follows public rights of way including footpaths, bridleways and minor lanes, with just a few short sections along roads.
00:00 - Official Start - For competitors who wish to complete the race in 24 hours or less
06:00 - Fast Start - For runners who wish to complete the race in 18 hours or less (strict cut off time limits at CP3 and CP6 remain the same)
Registration for both starts will take place at The Railway between 9:30pm and 11:30pm with a full briefing at 11:45pm. We have access to toilets at the pub. At registration you will hand over your drop bags, collect your race number, have your kit checked and have your tracker fitted.

Runners are allowed to use any public facilities on route. If leaving the route at any time runners must return to the same spot they left the route.
A route was first devised by Fred Andrews of the Ramblers Association, and then developed by West Yorkshire County Council in the early 1980s. This council was abolished in 1986, and the path is now under the care of the Countryside section of Leeds City Council. The Leeds Country Way was realigned in 2006, using a route devised by Bob Brewster, to bring it entirely within the boundary of the Leeds metropolitan district (previously it crossed the boundary into Wakefield), and the path was officially relaunched on 26 September 2006 with a revised set of map leaflets and improved waymarking.
We aim to make each annual event unique by moving the start & finish location to a different part of Leeds. This will make every year a completely different experience for competitors by passing through the same areas at different times of the day.

By Car
We strongly recommend parking on Calverley Lane situated just off the A6120. We recommend to avoid Calverley Bridge which is often full. Once parked The Railway Inn is a short walk over the river.
By Bike
The Railway Inn has a place to lock your bike and is easily accessible via the Leeds Liverpool Canal so access by foot or bike is the best way to reach us.
By Train / Bus
The Railway is 2 miles from Kirkstall Forge station and a short walk from the 60 and 60A bus route
